Brother Wang has been a believer for over 11 years. Although he was raised in a Christian family and his wife had been born again for nine years, it took losing his motorcycle, his only form of transportation, to bring him to his point of need of God.

After flying from Beijing by taking two flights plus a three-hour drive the day before, we all woke up early for another three-hour drive south of Huili. We arrived in a poor area that had been devastated by an earthquake two years earlier.

The church service was to be held in a central church where seven other churches could send pastors and church members to receive their own supply of Bibles.

During the earthquake, all of these churches were completely destroyed. By banding together and receiving help from the churches in Huili, all of the churches had been rebuilt to the glory of God. The project manager is  Brother Wang Zong Yin, who is also an evangelist.

During the joint service, people sang and danced and praised God in the unique style known to this remote area.

Bonnie and I spoke at the service and gave an invitation to accept Christ. Although it was a gathering of Christians from the eight churches, three people responded to the gospel message and walked forward to accept Christ.

Afterward, we distributed Bibles to everyone in attendance. The church leaders were given boxes of Bibles to take back to their congregations.

Here is Brother Wang's testimony:

Brother Wang has been a believer for over 11 years. Although he was raised in a Christian family and his wife had been born again for nine years, it took losing his motorcycle, his only form of transportation, to bring him to his point of need of God.

He prayed with his wife to accept Christ and God gave him grace to accept the situation. He had a dramatic encounter with God in the next few days and it set him on a course of serving God first in his life.

Wang chose to go to church on Sundays instead of working—and God blessed him with making the same amount of money as if he had worked the whole day. He began to travel to remote villages with another elder from his church to share the Good News.

When the earthquake shook the area and destroyed eight churches, Wang was asked to be project manager of all of them. It was a difficult task as he had language barriers and difficult working conditions to overcome.

Wang praises God he was able to complete the task. He was thrilled to be part of the Bible distribution as he continues to evangelize the area and be part of God’s plan to expand the kingdom of God in the Sichuan province of China.
